Levon Ofgang
Levon Ofgang is a founding member of the Celtic Roots group MacTalla Mor. With the band he has toured nationally and internationally playing guitar and Great Highland Bagpipes in performances at ESPN Studios, Pete Seeger’s Clearwater Festival and many other festivals and venues. Along the way he has shared the stage with all-time greats such as Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels and Levon Helm (from The Band). He received his Bachelor’s Degree Summa Cum Laude studying classical guitar at WCSU on a full merit scholarship, graduated with a 4.0 GPA average and was an active member of the Kathwari Honors Program.
He has served as interim music director of St. Mary’s/St. Bendict’s in Stamford, Conn. and as accompanist at Blessed Sacrament in Waterbury, Conn. He co-directed the musical ensemble for WCSU’s production of “Two Nights Near Doolin.” He teaches music at The Kent School, The Marvelwood School and also operates a private teaching studio in Fairfield County, Conn. In addition, he is an accomplished writer whose work has appeared in the News-Times, Connecticut Post, Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Times, and he is a two-time winner of WCSU’s “Ten Minute Play Festival.”
